Room 5!

Check out all of the smiley faces in Room 5!! We have 15 happy students in Room 5, do you know all of their names? If you don't maybe you could introduce yourself and find out their name and something they like to do?

Room 5 would like to introduce you to our newest members!  In the last couple of weeks we have welcomed - Holly, Isabella and Ruby. They have settled in so quickly , it's like they have been at school for ages. If you see them around school, make sure you give them a big ,friendly Stanley Avenue welcome :)

Cross Country

What an awesome day! The sun was shining, Room 5 students were smiling and we all had a lot of fun! Thanks for all of the supportive whanau that turned up to cheer everyone on.

We had a visitor!!!!

Today we were lucky enough to have the fabulous Bruce Potter, illustrator, come to visit us. He showed us how a doodle can turn into anything we want, if we just use our imagination.
We are very excited to be getting his Doodle Bug books in our library.
Here is a short clip of Bruce singing a song called Penny the prolific pooing cow.
Maybe you could check the local library to see if you can find his books, his illustrations are amazing!

School Photos 24th August

It's nearly that time of year! SCHOOL PHOTOS!!!! YAAAAYYY!

Today your children will be bringing home order forms and information about ordering school photos, these are INDIVIDUALLY named.

Forms and payment must be returned to school BEFORE photo day please. If you are wanting sibling photos, you will need to collect a sibling envelope from the office. Please note this is only available for siblings enrolled at Stanley Ave School.

Mr Moody visits Room 5 & 6

This week we were lucky enough to have Mr Moody come and visit us at maths time. He talked to us about how things can be bigger, in different ways. We looked at how a bottle is bigger when we walk our fingers up it, but a container is bigger when we walk our fingers along it.
