This is a new song that Room 5 have been learning. The chorus is easy to learn. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Room 5 is a bustling and busy classroom of 5 year olds. We are always challenging ourselves, trying new things and learning about how school works. This blog is a way to keep whanau and friends updated on what is happening in and around our school lives. Please leave a comment so we know you have visited!

Fabulous February Foyer Display!!
Check out our amazing group of artists and their first piece of artwork! This term we are focusing on what makes us unique and powerful. We know that each of us is different, and that's ok - it is what makes us who we are!
Students in Room 5 with guidance from Mrs Prattley, coloured and decorated this amazing underwater scene. Each student was in charge of decorating their fish and making sure they tried their best to present a quality piece of work that reflected who they are.
If you haven't seen this, pop in to the office and have a look - it's worth the trip!
A special thanks from me (Miss Williams) to Mrs Prattley and Kathy for their amazing work with the students of Room 5 and helping the plan come together while I was away.

Hello Term 1!
Welcome back Room 5!
We have already had such a busy two weeks! We have started reading and are excited to be taking books home and sharing them with our whanau, and we are all swimming everyday!
Last week we worked on our foyer display item where we all got to help decorate and colour the letters and our very own fish. When you have a moment ,pop in to the office and check out our work.
We have 11 smiley faces in Room 5 and I am happy to report that they are all settling in and working together well.
Today we created our class treaty and talked about rules that we think we need in Room 5. Stay tuned to see the display we will have up in Room 5.
Have a great week!

End of year assembly & Final Blog post for end of year.
Yesterday we had our final assembly for the year. This assembly recognised our students who really 'Strive to Succeed" with their learning , and those who have had academic success. This year Lydia and Ariana were the recipients of the Room 5 certificates. We also performed our Bright Star song along with the rest of the Junior syndicate and said 'see you later' to Mrs Hunt, we will all miss seeing her around school and hope she comes back to visit us.
As part of the last blog post for Room 5 I would like to congratulate each of the 20 students in Room 5. You have all made a great start to your schooling journey. I have loved seeing the excitement and enthusiasm you all bring to Room 5 each day and am proud to have been a part of your first schooling experiences.
Just a quick note to parents, if you need to check the stationary list for next year, and can't find the one that was sent home, these have now been uploaded to the front page of the school blog.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy break. I am looking forward to spending time with my children and relaxing for a wee bit , until preparations for next year start!
See you all in the New Year.

Annual Pool Trip
It's that time! Time for students and teachers at Stanley Avenue to celebrate the end of another successful year at school. Our way of celebrating is by spending a day at the Te Rapa pools.
To make things run smoothly please make sure that students are at school by 8.30am, with togs on underneath uniform. To reduce lost property , please make sure that EVERYTHING is labelled - togs, towel, uniform and underwear.
Can't wait to see you all tomorrow, it will be an exciting and fun day!
